Product Introduction:

Alendronate is a prescription medication used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in adults. It belongs to a class of drugs called bisphosphonates, which work by slowing down the process of bone breakdown, helping to maintain or increase bone density and reduce the risk of fractures. It is especially used in postmenopausal women and individuals taking corticosteroids who are at risk for bone loss.

Alendronate helps by binding to the bone surface and inhibiting osteoclasts—cells that break down bone. It is commonly taken once weekly or daily and must be taken on an empty stomach with water, remaining upright for at least 30 minutes afterward to prevent irritation of the esophagus.
